If you look at the form table over the last five fixtures, West Ham are second. The Hammers have racked up four successive Premier League wins in a run that, until Thursday, had propelled them into the top four, almost without anyone noticing.
More attention has been given to Liverpool's struggles over the last month. However the Reds finally notched up their first league win and goals of 2021 on Thursday when they beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1, pushing West Ham down to fifth in the process.
However the Reds' injury problems showed no signs of easing on Thursday. Currently Joel Matip, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Diogo Jota, Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk are all on the treatment table.
