Big name brands, ‘vibrancy’, and a ‘cheerful’ atmosphere are what Stockport’s town centre needs in order to return it to former glories, according to residents.
With a swathe of new projects coming in to regenerate the heart of the borough, including a potential pedestrianisation of the Underbanks and Market Place, the Manchester Evening News asked residents and shoppers what they thought was required to improve it.
Most pointed to the Merseyway Centre as the site most in need of some TLC. Walking through the shopping district is Lynne Barber, adorned with striking purple hair.
