Visitors have been flocking to view the Galloway Viking Hoard in Kirkcudbright Galleries since the exhibition opened last weekend.The event offers the first chance to see precious artefacts buried for more than 1,000 years, revealed in all their glory.The hoard is the richest collection of rare and unique Viking-age objects ever found in Britain or Ireland.Communities committee chairman, Andy Ferguson welcomed the collection’s homecoming to Galloway, close to the place where it was found.He said: “Dumfries and Galloway Council is excited and honoured to host this unique exhibition.“I was lucky enough to see the hoard shortly after discovery.“Seeing it so many years later I’d like to put on record my admiration and gratitude to National
