Virgin Media has announced it will close all 53 of its UK based stores on the high street. The stores which are currently closed due to the UK wide lockdown, will not reopen and shall remain permanently closed.
Virgin Media closed the stores in March, but the decision to permanently shutter all branches has supposedly been taken due to decreasing footfall for the cable and TV company.
Supposedly the 341 staff who work in these stores have not been furloughed. According to The Guardian, the company will instead offer employees first refusal at 300 new roles working at-home in customer care.
