Darts bosses have been confronted with their worst nightmare as Vincent van der Voort pulled out of the PDC world championship after testing positive for Covid.Quickfire Van der Voort was due to play No.4 seed James Wade in the third round on Monday night – but the 'Machine' now gets a bye into the last 16.Van der Voort's positive test comes just 72 hours after fellow Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld revealed he had contracted the virus following his second round defeat by Rob Cross.Professional Darts Corporation chiefs are are tenterhooks because Van der Voort spent Christmas Day in London with compatriot Michael van Gerwen at their manager's home.Van Gerwen was understood to have returned a negative PCR test today, and under PDC competition.
