Producers are thrilled to have snapped him up for a quarter of a million pounds, with the TV presenter due to appear on the reality show while his wife Tess Daly presents Strictly Come Dancing in the UK.
An insider told The Mirror: "Everyone’s so pleased to have Vernon on board, he’s a lovely guy, full of down-to-earth northern charm and perfect for the show." The Sun Online have contacted Vernon's rep for comment.
