Valentino Rossi had a miraculous escape in a horrific high-speed crash which stopped the Austrian Grand Prix. Rossi, the greatest rider in the history of the sport with seven world titles in the premier class, was following team-mate Maverick Vinales in the early stages when two riders crashed behind.
Franco Morbidelli and Johan Zarco tangled at high speeds, with their bikes being flung across the track as Rossi followed Vinales in front.
One of the stray bikes somehow flew between the two riders, missing Rossi by a matter of inches before he also avoided the second bike hurtling in front of him.
