The US State Department has said the decision to refuse an extradition request for Harry Dunn’s alleged killer is final. The Trump administration reaffirmed America’s position yesterday after Interpol issued a “red notice” for Anne Sacoolas’ arrest.
A court could now decide whether she is forced to return to the UK. Harry’s family were told by Northants Police on Monday that Sacoolas, 42, is “wanted internationally” in connection with his death.
In an email to his parents, the force said “the wanted circulations should be enacted” if Sacoolas left the US. But a State Department spokeswoman maintained the fugitive had diplomatic immunity from criminal jurisdiction.
