Changes mean that cashback will be axed for current account holders. Barclays says it will also terminate Blue Reward memberships for those that have not signed in or registered for online banking by August 3.

The lender said it has updated the terms and conditions of the Blue Rewards scheme, which offers discounts on the high street – for £4 a month, reports the Mirror.

However it’s a double blow for customers as Barclays has also warned it’s scrapping cashback across the board on June 22 - meaning Blue Rewards will be one of the only ways to get money off
