A long queue of ambulances with patients inside have been forced to queue outside a hospital. The emergency service vehicles were spotted waiting outside Southend Hospital in Essex this afternoon.
While it is not clear what has caused the queues, Southend is enduring rising coronavirus infection rates at the moment. There were 150.2 new cases per 100,000 people in the Essex seaside town on Monday.
That is an increase from a week earlier, when the rate was 115.8.
