The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is facing even more trouble. They represented the HFPA since 2011. If you don’t remember, it was originally believed that the HFPA would skip 2022 entirely for the annual awards show amid the controversy surrounding the organization’s lack of diversity.
Back in early 2021, the Los Angeles Times reported that the HFPA had no Black members, and that it had participated in unethical business practices.
However, the organization still went through with their awards this year in small event that was not televised. No nominees, celebrities, or press were in attendance.
