Unai Emery's Villarreal got off to a dream start to their Champions League semi-final second leg at the Estadio de la Ceramica - proving a prediction from the former Arsenal boss right.

Emery, who led Villarreal to Europa League glory last season, knew his team would give Liverpool far more problems than they managed to do at Anfield in a game that they lost 2-0 following an own goal and a strike from Sadio Mane last week. The former PSG boss had said after his team failed to have a shot on target in the first leg: "They [Liverpool] are going to suffer more than tonight in Villarreal."That was the case as Boulaye Dia and Francis Coquelin both scored in the first half, levelling up the tie on aggregate before the second leg.Jurgen Klopp's men then regrouped at the break with Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane all scoring in the second-half to book their place in the final.Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold said of the result on BT Sport: "We never seem to make these Champions League semi-finals easy for ourselves. HAVE YOUR SAY!

Will Liverpool win the quadruple? Tell us in the comments section "Difficult, really difficult. We came here and they played very well first-half.

We regrouped at half-time and got the game by the scruff of the neck. We did what we needed to do."We expected it but sometimes you can't control the game how you want to.
