Manchester United legend Gary Neville has been told that Liverpool live ‘rent free’ in his head after his series of tweets on Tuesday night.Jurgen Klopp’s Reds progressed into the final of the Champions League after beating Villarreal 3-2 to secure a 5-2 win on aggregate.
However, it was far from smooth sailing for the Anfield outfit. Villarreal initially levelled the tie in the first half thanks to goals from Boulaye Dia and Francis Coquelin, and Liverpool’s woeful performance in the opening 45 minutes led many to believe they were sacrificing their chances of winning the quadruple.
With the aggregate score tied, Neville took the opportunity to post a small clip of him enjoying a glass of red wine whilst trying to hold in his laughter – he previously posted a similar photo at 1-0 Villarreal as well. And he lived to regret the decision after Fabinho, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane all scored to send Liverpool into their third final under Klopp.
Neville then posted an image of him with his almost-empty glass of wine looking worse for wear, captioned with a sad face emoji.Reds fans were quick to pounce upon the tweets, with one writing: “Rent free”.
