Jamie Carragher didn’t miss the chance to take aim at Gary Neville after claiming bragging rights over his Sky Sports colleague on Saturday.
The pair captained Liverpool and Manchester United respectively at Old Trafford for the Legends of the North game, which raised more than £1.3million for the Manchester United foundation.
It was the visitors, though, that got the better of their old rivals with a 3-1 victory thanks to Mark Gonzalez’s double and Luis Garcia’s opener, while Dimitar Berbatov scored from the penalty spot for the hosts.
The two sides will meet each other again in the return leg at Anfield in September — where Neville will no doubt be aiming for some revenge.
