Russian forces.CNN's Erin Burnett was reduced to tears after Serhiy Perebyinis shared how he learned his wife and two children had died after seeing their bodies in an image shared on Twitter.
During an interview conducted by the CNN anchor on March 16, Perebyinis shared that he had been away in eastern Ukraine in order to take care of his mother as his wife and children had attempted to flee the shelling.
He revealed how he had managed to speak to his family about evacuating the night before their deaths, which was the final conversation he ever had with them.He said: "That was the day when already there was no water, electricity, gas, and we discussed — I spoke to her at 10 p.m., even though at that point there was no connectivity either. "But I managed to get through and had a discussion about potential evacuation. "At the last moment, however, the convoy she was planning to travel with was shelled at and fired at."And then she came on foot to the bridge, trying to make an escape on foot.
