mirror.co.ukToday is officially the hottest day of the year so far with Brits sizzling in 35C heat. The Met Office has confirmed the temperature has hit 35C at Heathrow, London, and say it is expected to rise even further this afternoon.
The hottest day of the year was previously 33.4C which was recorded at Heathrow on June 25. It had been predicted that today would be even hotter with temperatures nudging into 35C in Greater London.
At 8am today, the Met Office confirmed temperatures had already reached the maximum it had been during many days this month.
And at around 11.30am the Met Office posted an update that it had hit 33C - but warned it wouldn't be blue skies for everyone.
