The 53-year-old presenter said people judged her for "laughing and joking" amid her tragic circumstances. Kate opened up about her own personal experience ahead of interviewing paramedic Laura Heath who was trolled for posting a glamorous selfie during the coronavirus crisis.
Mum-of-two Kate said: "We've talked about this, with me doing this show, if we're having a laugh and joke - because that's our job in the morning to cheer everybody - people then say does that mean you're not worried about Derek or you're not feeling sad about.
