60mph gales as the Met Office issues a 27-hour weather warning.A yellow weather alert, from 6pm Thursday is in place until 9pm Friday for strong winds.The severe gusts, which could reach up to 60mph on the coast, may also cause havoc inland with predictions of 50mph.It comes after Brits have been lashed with hail, thunder, and rain over the past few days in a turn of wet and wild weather.The wind coincides with unsettled conditions over much of the country as an area of low pressure moves in today, bringing more miserable weather.The heaviest downpours on Thursday are expected to batter Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northwest Wales as well as northern England.The Met Office warns between 40mm and 60mm are forecast to fall in some.
