temperatures push even higher than recent days across some parts of the UK but the Met Office has also issued a yellow weather warning to confuse matters.The Met Office and BBC Weather are forecasting London and the south east to see the mercury rise to 28C after the highest temperature recorded in the UK on Tuesday was Cardiff at 26.1C.As well as Tuesday being the hottest day of the year so far in 2021, it was also the first official meteorological day of the summer.Much of the UK will join the capital's soaring temperatures with Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and Oxford all seeing highs in the mid-20s.Due to the heat there will be some breakouts of rain and the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across parts.
