Weather forecasters are refusing to rule out a widespread dumping of snow across the UK in the next few weeks as Arctic flurries looks set to arrive in some places by this evening.
Some have even warned of a "little ice age" that could take hold of the UK before the end of November. Recently, the Met Office upgraded its snow forecast for the coming weeks from a 'slight risk of wintry showers' to 'likely snow and ice'.
They have specified that the snow risk is "especially" applicable to northern regions, but haven't ruled out a widespread snow event.
