Storm Arwen as fierce winds and heaps of snow are forecast to keep battering the UK into next week.Mayhem has erupted on many of Britain's roads this morning with more than 120 lorries grounded on motorways and snow ploughs deployed to help.
There have also been multiple reports of road traffic accidents as drivers struggle to keep control of vehicles.Moreover, more than 80,000 homes have been left without power as gales reach over 100km/h, according to power supplier Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN).
Updated weather model maps from WXCharts now indicate that areas in the north of England will see a staggering eight inches of snow on the ground, lasting from now until at least Tuesday.
