The Met Office has warned of further snow and ice across Britain for days as temperatures plummet to -3C. Up to 3cm of snow will fall overnight into Monday in Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland hours after Storm Bella battered the country with 100mph winds and torrential rain.
The named storm followed days of wintry weather over Christmas which brought flooding to parts of southern England. Kicking off a chilly start to the week ahead, today is unlikely to reach any higher than 4C, while yellow weather warnings remains in place until 6pm.
They advise people to be wary of potential slip hazards, particularly where surfaces remain wet from the earlier rain, with continued travel disruptions also expected.
