Torrential rain and strong gales are set to hit UK this week before Christmas snow comes, forecasters claim. It will be a washout in Britain in the next seven days with the west of the country set to take the brunt of it.
The Met Office forecasts falling temperatures in the days before Christmas Day with snow possible even at low levels and lows of -12C.
A Met Office forecaster said: “Monday will be windy, with heavy showers continuing on Tuesday and gales probable on Wednesday in the west. “From Thursday to December 26 starts with windy conditions and potential coastal gales expected. “Temperatures will probably trend downwards through the period.
