The UK's oldest dog likes nothing more than tucking into a kebab – but a Yorkshire accent makes him flip, his owner says. Loveable English Bull Terrier and cross Staffordshire Maximus Bodacious is 24 – the equivalent of 120 human years.
The elderly pet lives a good life now, munching on tea and toast as well as "hoovering up" leftovers, but it's not always been plain sailing for him, as he was cruelly beaten by his previous owners.
RSPCA officers had rescued him from a back garden of a home in Yorkshire, where he had been severely beaten with a baseball bat, suffered broken ribs and had an acidlike substance fed to him.
