The latest NHS England figures bring the region's hospital death toll to 5,867. In the last 24 hour reporting period, one coronavirus-related death was recorded at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

Another death was also recorded at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Saturday, April 17, are: Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 646 Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9 Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
