Couto, who appeared for City in pre-season for the first time since he signed last year, looks likely to spend another season out on loan after a productive campaign at Girona last term.
Despite Celtic's interest, and Couto's apparent trip to see them play at Celtic Park last week, Sky Sports now report that Braga are in talks with City over a loan for the Brazilian.
