TV BAFTAs in major blunder as winner swears hours before watershed

THE TV BAFTAs was caught in a major blunder after a winner swore hours before the watershed. The annual ceremony took place at London's Royal Festival Hall today, with the show being televised on BBC One at 6pm.

The BAFTAs ceremony had begun earlier in the afternoon, giving production staff time to edit the footage down to fit the two hour time slot.

It also meant they could edit out any swear words, however, one managed to sneak through. It occurred before 7pm when Sophie Willan took to the stage after being announced the winner in the Female Performance In A Comedy Programme category.

Sophie won for her role in Alma's Not Normal - which she also writes - and she was clearly stunned to have triumphed in such a competitive category.
