He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but after five hours he succumbed to his injuries.A murder investigation has been launched following the horror attack, which has shocked his friends, family and the community.Emergency services arrived on the north Manchester estate shortly before 4.50am.Mr Murphy suffered multiple stab wounds to his chest and arm, Greater Manchester Police said.Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he died shortly after 11am.A file relating to Mr Murphy death has been passed to Manchester.
