RAF hero after his tragic cancer death. Gary Banford had launched a charity drive last July after he received the devastating news that his oesophageal cancer was inoperable.

The Macduff man lost his battle with the disease this month aged just 51. The former Warrant Officer, who had recently retired, had served with the air force's Poseidon spy aircraft which are based out of RAF Lossiemouth in Moray.
