British Transport Police officers were called to the incident at Deansgate station in Manchester city centre just after 9am (Monday).
There had been a report of a 'ticket dispute', a BTP spokesperson said. Officers spoke with the passenger and the 'situation was resolved'.
The line through Deansgate was fully blocked for around an hour because of the dispute. In a tweet posted at 9.25am, Northern Rail said all services through the station had been cancelled or delayed while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
