Ministers will confirm today they have hit their target of offering all care home residents their first jab by the end of January.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock is expected to announce the milestone after the latest figures roll in from across England. But ministers are not expected to publish the numbers of those who have had the vaccine - despite pressure to do so.
Instead they will confirm it has been offered to people living at more than 10,000 care homes with older residents. A small number of other homes have had their NHS visits deferred because of a severe local Covid outbreak.
Mr Hancock had pledged to offer a first dose to 300,000 elderly care home residents in England, plus their staff, by January 31.
