Families face waiting at least a month before care home visits are relaxed, Downing Street has suggested, despite almost all residents getting the Covid vaccine.
Matt Hancock will tonight announce the vast majority of England’s 300,000 elderly care home residents have had a first dose of the jab.
But Downing Street indicated there would be no change to the rules on visits until there is a plan for changing other lockdown rules.
A plan on easing lockdown is due to be published in the week of February 22 - with schools only expected to be the first thing to reopen from March 8.
