Tony Adams is the latest pundit to blast Mikel Arteta over the "lazy" signing of Willian last summer - by claiming Arsene Wenger would never have targeted a forward coming to the end of his career.
Willian, 32, arrived on a free transfer from Chelsea and was handed a lucrative three-year deal reportedly worth in excess of £220,000 per week.
The Brazilian winger made an instant impact on his debut, picking up a hat-trick of assists during the opening-day victory at Fulham.
But his form quickly dipped and he is still yet to score for Arsenal despite making 16 appearances in all competitions, including 12 starts in the Premier League.
