The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games could be pushed back by two years due to fears that athletes could be affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
Organisers have been pushing a consistent message that the Games would not be cancelled or postponed but sponsors who have pumped in billions of dollars have grown increasingly nervous about how the virus' spread will impact the event.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said on Wednesday that "the preparations for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 are continuing as planned." The Games are due to be held in Japan's capital city between July 24 and August 9 but may now be delayed until 2022.
