At a time when town halls are being pushed to breaking point - scrambling to keep vital services running - many are also reporting a rise in the number of fly-tipping incidents staff are having to deal with.
Pictures taken across the region show overflowing bin bags, sodden duvets, mattresses, broken furniture, tyres - and surprisingly, considering it was in such high demand just a few weeks ago, toilet roll - have been dumped at beauty spots, beside the road and by people's homes.
