Joe Exotic
Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.
Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Tiger King 2 labelled 'trashy and pointless' as new Netflix series fails to impress

Like baking banana bread and clapping on our doorsteps, Tiger King will forever be known as one of the saving graces that made the first lockdown that tiny bit more bearable.The addictive Netflix documentary pulled in a cult following and shot people such as Joe Exotic, Carole Baskin and Jeff Lowe to stardom.

However, the much-anticipated sequel – which is available on Netflix from today (Wednesday 17 November) – has failed to impress fans and critics.

Critics at the Telegraph, Independent and Times have dubbed the second series "pointless," "icky" and "trashy." Meanwhile, many viewers – although eager to binge watch the show – have agreed.
