A thug smashed a family's front door after an alleged dispute over cash.Airdrie Sheriff Court heard that James Joyce threatened to "chop up" a Cumbernauld father and his son.

Joyce was said to be furious over money owed for a car purchase.The 36-year-old prisoner appeared via video link and admitted threatening or abusive behaviour in Dalshannon Road, Condorrat, on March 29 while on bail.An allegation that he brandished a knife was dropped.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
