Historic Scotland have confirmed that three of Scotland's most popular castles are set to re-open next week.Posting on social media, the organisation revealed that it would be "opening the gates" and "lowering the drawbridges" at Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle and Urquhart Castle.Visitors will be allowed to return to the iconic sites from Saturday August 1st.Posting on their Facebook page, the wrote: "There’ll be a few changes to make sure all our staff and visitors stay safe, but there’s still loads to explore and centuries of history to uncover."Pre-booking is essential for everyone, including members."The historic sites were closed down at the start of the covid-19 outbreak, much like the rest of the country.Only accepting advance.
