Sam Cosgrove is set to miss the first four months of the season with a knee injury. The Dons striker was set to line up for Derek McInnes' men in this Saturday's Scottish Premiership opener against Rangers.
But now it looks like he'll be sidelined until the middle of November after suffering a brutal blow in a pre-season friendly, according to the Scottish Sun.
The injury was sustained last weekend when the Pittodrie club took on Hibs in a bounce match. Cosgrove isn't expected to be operated on despite the long lay-off but nonetheless it's a hammer blow for McInnes just days away from the new season.Just weeks prior to the injury, Cosgrove knocked back a move to Ligue 2 after Guingamp had a bid accepted for the English striker.
