It was characteristic of the bride-to-be’s penchant for perfectly coordinated dressing. Its shade was chosen to complement the deep blue sapphire newly ensconced on her ring finger: a ring that is one of the most famous engagement rings in history and has since spawned countless imitations.That ring, of course, originally belonged to the Duke’s late mother.
