Hayden Panettiere is ready to talk about her substance abuse history. Panettiere sat down with Jada Pinkett Smith, Adrienne Banfield Norris and guest host Kelly Osbourne on this week’s “Red Table Talk”.
The “Heroes” actress, 33, traced the roots of her addiction through Hollywood and her teen years. READ MORE: Hayden Panettiere Recalls The ‘Heartbreaking’ Moment She Lost Custody Of Her Daughter “Somebody who was on my team that I was working with came to me, and it was before this red carpet and I had been doing ‘Heroes’ and we did press all the time and I was a little low-energy,” Panettiere said, according to People. “It was, ‘Here, take one of these, it’s a happy pill, it’ll give you energy,’ so I didn’t think of it at the time as a bad thing or a drug.” Panettiere, who has been performing professionally since 1994’s “One Life to Live” and appeared in a commercial before turning 1-year-old, thinks the “happy pill” was something “similar to an Adderall.” READ MORE: Hayden Panettiere Poses In ‘Scream 6’ Behind-The-Scenes Set Photo “I should have thought, ‘That’s so sketchy,’ but I didn’t because I trusted the person,” Panettiere said. “It did give me that little bit of energy and I didn’t feel like, high and out of control, but I did feel happy and like I was looking forward to doing interviews, yes.” Episodes of “Red Table Talk” air Wednesdays on Facebook Watch.
