Nominations are now open to recognise those you know who are working hard to promote Gaelic life and language.The Scottish Gaelic Awards is a celebration of culture from across the country - and this year is set to be the biggest event yet as the awards hit their tenth anniversary.

The Daily Record and headline sponsor, Bòrd na Gàidhlig, are proud to see the awards return and are excited to reward those doing their bit for the Gaelic culture at the event at Glasgow's Marriott hotel on February 21, 2023.The 10 categories cover those young and old, in every industry and sector, across every region in Scotland - so there's a chance for everyone to get the recognition they deserve.In honour of its decade of celebrations, the Scottish Gaelic Awards are bringing in new awards for 2023.Over the past few years, there's been a big increase in the amount of Gaelic being used online and across social media platforms, which is why the awards is launching the brand new Best Gaelic Content Creator award.

This will go to the individual who has created the best Gaelic content online. In line with the aims of the National Gaelic Language Plan, such use encourages the normalisation of Gaelic and the event wants to celebrate those people who are creating content in an engaging way across social media platforms.Shona MacLennan, Ceannard of Bòrd na Gàidhlig which is headline and Best Contribution Award sponsor, said: "We’re delighted to celebrate 10 years of Duaisean na Gàidhlig and to mark significant achievements in Gaelic throughout the past year.
