Francis Ford Coppola is unveiling an updated version of The Godfather Part III ahead of the film’s 30th anniversary – and it has a brand new title too.Bosses at Paramount announced news of the re-cut and restored version of the production on Thursday (September 3, 2020).Based on Mario Puzo’s book, the film will also be renamed Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, and debut for a limited time in theatres this December before heading to a video on demand release.“Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone is an acknowledgment of Mario’s and my preferred title and our original intentions for what became ‘The Godfather: Part III,'” Coppola tells Deadline.

Diane Keaton and Talia Shire reprised their roles, but Robert Duvall refused to return as Tom Hagen.
