Billboard has launched two brand new music charts, the site announced this week. The charts, called Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl.
U.S., are based on worldwide streams and download sales and will give an accurate glimpse into the most popular songs on the planet.
They both will collect and combine sales and streaming data from more than 200 territories, with rankings based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of leading digital platforms, and downloads from key online music retailers.
At launch, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s “WAP” topped the Billboard Global 200, while Maluma‘s “Hawái” took the top spot on the Billboard Global 200 Excl.
