Essential workers across a number of key industries are now eligible for a coronavirus test. The government has been ramping up testing capacity over the last few weeks and is now expanding the list of people who can book a test online.

Essential workers are now being prioritised for testing, along with anyone who lives or works at a care home and anyone over the age of 65 who is presenting symptoms.

The government has also said that anybody who has to leave their home to go to work because they cannot work from home - for example construction workers and shop workers - can get tested if they display symptoms.

Testing has also been expanded to include anyone with coronavirus symptoms who lives in a household with someone who is eligible
