THE Chase brainbox Anne Hegerty threatened show producers with an argument after she believed the correct answer wasn’t shown as an option during a tense round of the hit ITV show.
The 64-year-old TV star, who is famed for her no-nonsense and direct manner, appeared to be angered with the answer options to the question: “What is mulch used for?” Host Bradley Walsh shared the possible answers which were: “enriching soil, deterring pests or increasing sunlight”.
As the contestants locked in their answers, Anne, who is also known as The Governess, wasn’t happy and had no qualms in venting her frustration.
She said: “It doesn't really enrich soil, mulch is quite often simply woodchip. The only effect it has is that it locks in the moisture, which wasn't up there!"
