Greater Manchester Police has issued a warning to shoppers about scammers posing as supermarket Tesco to steal personal details by pretending to offer 'free vouchers' during the coronavirus outbreak.

The police force warned about the scam on Twitter - advising people to be wary when opening their emails. In a post, GMP wrote: "ALERT: Reports have been received about these fake Tesco emails offering ‘free vouchers’ during the coronavirus outbreak. "The link leads to a convincing-looking #phishing website that is designed to steal your login, personal and financial information! #coronavirusfrauds." The warning message reads: "Watch out for these fake Tesco emails.
