Glasgow brewery for sacking a member of staff for being “surly when walking”. WEST On The Green based the east of Glasgow have dismissed two members of their front-of-house team stating insufficient “work-rate and enthusiasm” and for being “surly when walking” as reasons.
The responses sent to staff have been shared on Twitter by Unite Hospitality who claim the dismissals have come after employees signed a grievance about pay during the coronavirus lockdown.
However, the brewery claim staff were let go after being observed and did not meet standards.In one correspondence with an employee, director Petra M Wetzel states: “Having observed the way you do the job, I do not think that your work-rate and enthusiasm for the job are of a sufficient.
