Supermarket giants have issued apologies to customers whose Christmases were wrecked by rotting turkeys. Yesterday some supermarket shoppers were left disappointed when they opened up their turkeys - only to discover they were 'rotten'.

Shoppers rushed to Twitter to complain, tagging the likes of Aldi, Tesco and Sainsbury's, the Manchester Evening News reports.

Writing on the social media platform, Rachael Anne Clark expressed her displeasure with her Tesco turkey crown, which was 'rank rotten' despite still being in date according to the packaging. How was your turkey?
