The unnamed 16-year-old cyclist was travelling by bike when he was involved in a collision with a grey Ford Focus on the South Distributor Road in Newport, South Wales, yesterday afternoon.
The 28-year-old driver, from the Rhondda Cynon Taf area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the incident.
Gwent Police said he is being held in custody.The collision happened outside the Blaina Wharf pub on the westbound carriageway just before 2pm.
